Open Educational Resources

What is an Open Educational Resources (OER)?

According to UNESCO (2021), Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are any type of educational materials that are in the public domain. They are published under open licenses that specify how materials can be used, reused, adapted, shared and modified according to specific needs. They can include textbooks, lecture notes, syllabi, assignments and tests. (RMIT, 2021)
